“I love SFD because it’s making me learn more about coding.  I wanted to do coding because its something I may end up doing in my profession. Society is going toward coding and technology.  When I grow up, I want to be either an environmental scientist or an engineer.” – Kayla Quarless, UAI

SFD is blooming with new partner schools!

We just finished a program with Girls, Inc. and Urban Assembly Institute of Math and Science for Young WomenIn just a short period of time, the girls have learned dance routines and a computer program that will allow them to create their own digital backdrop!
It’s been a pleasure working with the girls at Urban Assembly School of Global CommerceIt’s been exciting to see the girls incorporate multimedia into their dancing!
What’s Next?
SFD is gearing up for our summer program with Achievement First Brooklyn High School.
We are also jazzed for our showcase at the Urban Assembly Institute on Thursday, May 28 at 6pm. Come join us at 283 Adams St, Brooklyn, NY!

Spring has sprung and we are jumping for joy!

We are a 2015 Echoing Green Fellowship finalist! This means SFD is amongst 105 of the most promising social entrepreneurs working in 44 countries across the world. Read about why our bold idea for social change is inspiring here.
We raised $16,000 at The Funding Networks March event! The Funding Network brings 3 nonprofits to make a pitch, where investors can bid live to support the organization.
