Overview

Girls Rise Up is STEM From Dance’s three-week summer program designed for girls to explore the exciting world of STEM. We invite you to support girls nationwide in exploring STEM this summer by donating. Consider giving a gift of $20, $200, $2,000, or any size meaningful to you. Your gift will go towards providing a girl with everything she needs to explore the interconnection of STEM and dance.

Programming takes place Monday through Friday between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM in respective time zones.

No. All programming will take place in person this summer.

No. The STEM workforce faces significant underrepresentation, especially among women and particularly women of color. STEM From Dance was established with the aim of addressing this disparity by empowering girls in STEM. In order to foster a supportive environment that builds confidence in girls, our programming is not open to boys.

Yes. Every program day, healthy snacks and lunch are provided.

The final Showcase is an amazing culmination of all the hard work that students have put into their Dance and STEM projects. The showcase will take place on the final day of programming. Locations and further details will be provided at the start of the program.

We understand that illness cannot be avoided and we will work with your child to catch them up. We ask that parents inform their Site Leader if their child is out due to illness.

Site Leaders are the administrators at each site, similar to a principal at your child’s school. They oversee the day to day operations and will serve as your point of contact once the program begins.

All supplies needed to participate fully, plus a Girls Rise Up t-shirt, will be provided. Students only need to come in comfortable clothes for dancing.
