Kayla has had the full STEM From Dance experience. Her school was one of the first to host a STEM From Dance program, where she was first exposed to coding. Realizing her love for STEM, Kayla studied environmental science at Union College. After graduating, Kayla held various positions, from mentoring students to leading programs at the Brooklyn Botanical gardens. Her STEM From Dance journey came full circle when she became a STEM instructor in 2021. “STEM From Dance was the first program that ever combined something that I liked to do in my free time and something that I was really interested in at school, and made that connection work.” Now Kayla is sharing that perspective and creating those connections with her own students.
