Emma heard about STEM From Dance for the first time during Girls in Science and Engineering Day at the Intrepid museum, and instantly knew she wanted to apply as it combined two of her favorite things: STEM and dance. As someone already involved in theater, Emma knew she loved to perform. But through STEM From Dance, she learned she loved to educate people as well. “During Parents Day at Girls Rise Up, I got to share what our dance was about with the parents, and I really liked sharing and teaching other people about what we learned. So that was something I learned about myself that I didn't know I had in me, to teach other people.”
