Have you ever walked into a room and immediately felt a surge of inspiration?

That's the experience our students had walking into their Girls Rise Up sites this summer. We have partnered with universities and community centers because we want our girls to know what it feels like to be in those spaces. These are the rooms where ideas are born, discoveries are made, and art is created.

Barnard College

New York, NY

Where students benefit from a college experience that offers intimate classes in a collaborative environment dedicated to women, along with access to the academic resources of Columbia University.

Code Crew

Memphis, TN

An organization that mentors underrepresented youth to be tech innovators and leaders through practical, hands-on computer science education programs.

Community Folk Art Center

Syracuse, NY

A vibrant cultural and artistic hub committed to promoting and developing artists of the African Diaspora. They aim to exalt cultural and artistic pluralism by collecting, exhibiting, teaching, and interpreting the visual and expressive arts.

Denver School of the Arts

Denver, CO

A comprehensive secondary arts magnet middle and high school. In addition to a rigorous academic program, students engage in intensive studies in Creative Writing, Dance, Band, Orchestra, Vocal Music, and more. DSA is committed to fostering a lifelong love of the arts in a culturally diverse, academically challenging environment.

La Casita Cultural Center

Syracuse, NY

A program of Syracuse University, established to advance an educational and cultural agenda of civic engagement through research, cultural heritage preservation, media, and the arts—bridging the Hispanic communities of the University and Central New York.

Lake City High School

Lake City, SC

A school on a mission to graduate students who are equipped with the tools necessary to achieve success. They have created a school culture that exhibits high expectations for all students, a relevant, rigorous, and engaging curriculum, positive relationships between all stakeholders, and a safe, student-centered learning environment.

New York University

New York, NY

A university that has been an innovator in higher education, has embraced urban identity and professional focus, and is one of the most prominent research universities in the world. NYU hosted Girls Rise Up in the former historic Transit Building, which they renovated and transformed into an engineering, media, tech, and arts hub.

San Jacinto College

Houston, TX

A college that offers a diverse range of academic offerings taught by expert faculty. Students can study anything from modern cosmetology to culinary programs.

University of South Florida

Tampa, FL

A university where students can peruse exhibitions at the USF Contemporary Art Museum or explore the USF Botanical Gardens, home to more than 3,000 plants, animals, and natural habitats on the southwest corner of campus.

We are incredibly grateful to have partnered with each of these institutions. They used their space, resources, and community to make this summer a special experience for our students.
